My expressionistic images define my concern for the natural world and the current rate of degradation. I engage with photography in order to capture movement, time and natural processes. For example, in a recent project I collaborated with nature, producing images by burying my prints in local salt marsh for months. Resultant abrasions evoke discourse about essential unseen ecology. Currently my experimenting includes 19th century traditional photographic processes and 20th century analogue, using home made plant based developer, in an attempt to reduce my environmental footprint. I am also trialling 21st century iphone photography for less representational imaging. My art is made to dispel despair and share hope in an age of loss.
