The Bury Framing Centre and Angle Gallery has a changing program of exhibitions in a combined workshop and gallery space and offers a bespoke framing service in the historic town of Bury St Edmunds.
The Angle Gallery aims to showcase a range of artists' work that adds to the vibrancy of the independent businesses found along St John’s Street. Aiming to create a hub of original work with a view to make this a destination to see exciting and thought-provoking art.
This year Julia Masterman is exhibiting as our artist during Suffolk Open Studios;
'Socio political feminist conceptual art that examines the parallels of repetition though history from the classics. Do the arts have a vital role to visualise a new future for women that is different from the existing history?
Previous work has explored the myth of Leda and the Swan, and this myth remains a stimuli to disrupt and re-imagine new outcomes for Leda.
Other work explores the landscape, a constant source of interest that seeks to represent the locale in addition to reinterpretations of appropriated historical scenes.'
