I am a stained glass artist, living by the broads, inspired by the world around me to create original glass art. Bespoke pieces range from small sun-catchers, light boxes, through to commissioned windows. A childhood fascination with church stained glass windows encouraged me to learn the skills to work with glass in my later years. 22 years as a plant scientist shows my passion for nature in my brightly coloured glass work, with flowers, fungi and small creatures appearing in most pieces. I also enjoy recreating my local scenery and landmarks in glass by using appliqué methods onto glass mirrors. Recently I have been studying the ancient art of illumination painting, and incorporating these pieces into my glass windows. I often use a combination of copper foiling and fusing to create some of my work, while using the traditional leading for bigger pieces to make statement windows. I teach glass skills weekly at my local art gallery where I also exhibit my work.
