Biography/Details

Claire started working with stained glass over 20 years ago.

Working with lead, copper foil and fused glass techniques, Claire takes a lot of inspiration from nature, a love of sailing, the beach and the sea around where she works and lives. This is how the name Spinnaker Glass was created.

Claire works out of a small studio based in East Anglia. One of her current interests is in using up-cycled and recycled materials in her artwork.

Crafting a wide range of items from windows, panels, mirrors, bowls, candle lanterns, lampshades, garden art and delicate fused glass jewellery.  Claire also undertakes repairs of leaded stained glass windows and door panels.

"I am very interested in using recycled glass and metals in my work along with traditional lead, copper foil and fused glass.  Glass is a fabulous medium in which to create beautiful designs to reflect the world."

Claire has some ready made creations in her shop Spinnaker Glass most of her work is commission based, providing designs and quotations on request.

Claire is a member of The Contemporary Glass Society.
