Having done art at school, had a job as a nursery nurse that allowed me to be creative and introduce young children to art for over 30 years and did a 2 year watercolour evening class my life became busy and I put art on the back boiler to come back to at a later date! ( apart from homemade birthdays cards within the family)This finally happened after an illness at the age of 44 that made me re-evaluate my life. I started life classes in Hoxne, which led to me quickly joining the Eye Arts Guild. My involvement with the group has helped me to progress in leaps and bounds, through workshops, lessons and advice from the other members and visiting artists. I also attended art sessions at The Bank in Eye for several years. This has lead me to work in Oils, Pastels, Inks, Acrylic and Watercolour. My work is varied. From portraits to landscapes and still life. I have had a few portrait commissions and sold a few paintings at our group exhibitions that are held locally.
At the moment I am experimenting with pen and ink drawing using a technique of blind and semi blind contour drawing which I feel creates very lively and quirky images. I then print these on to watercolour paper and hand paint.
