I took a Foundation course at Brighton college of Art. I gained a 1st. Class Honours Birmingham Polytechnic Diploma in Interior Design and then an MA in Environmental Design at the Royal College of Art.
I worked in Architecture, Interior Design, Television and Theatre as designer.
I worked as a designer - maker in Lighting, Soft Furnishing, Props and Accessories.
Alongside I taught on Foundation and Design courses. After studying for a PGCE at Goldsmiths I taught in Primary schools, Dulwich Picture Gallery and now at Sir John Soane's Museum. I also teach privately.
In 1983 I started making recycled paper which led to my using it for drawing and collage, Lino-printing and book-making. I mould the pulp to produce containers.
My subject matter is predominately buildings and structures, occasionally landscape. I am also interested in patterns and have produced an alphabet.
