Biography/Details

My work has a focus on nature, working alongside nature in my practice and the materials I use. Considering my local resources, being as sustainable as possible while enjoying the process of creating. My art work develops as I both research into and use my senses to reflect what I feel is the essence of the subject. I continue to challenge my practice and the products used to find the balance between caring for and expressing my response to my environment.

I find slowing down the process with hand stitch, drawing, writing and making fibres from nature or pre loved items gives me time to reflect on my experience. Developing a good mental health is important to me through creating and spending time in nature. My stitch journals and walk mapping have developed from this, responding to my time in nature through stitch. Encouraging and sharing this with others is growing within my practice.
