Printmaking using collagraph and intaglio techniques.
My printmaking is inspired by the landscape, natural forms and textures, but I also like to experiment with abstraction.
I am mostly self taught, but have attended short courses at both Suffolk College, and online with Sally Hirst, and I recently took part in the Southbank Printmakers Mini Print exhibition in London.
My favourite technique is collagraphy, where I use a board substrate and add different gels, pastes, grits, glues and various household and DIY items to create a printing plate. This plate is then inked, wiped and passed through a press with a piece of damp paper, to reveal a textured print.
What I love about printmaking is not only the endless potential for combining different techniques, but also the possibilities for combining prints with other disciplines such as watercolour and collage.
