I'm a glass artist, designing and making colourful hand-made decorative fused glassware.
Creative with colour and passionate about pattern, I enjoy creating bright and bold patterned fused glass pieces often with unusual contrasting colour combinations. I find inspiration from the world around me: in nature as well as from art, cinema, fashion and architecture.
Glass is an alluring material and has always captivated me but it wasn’t until 2010 after completing a foundation course at Camberwell College of Arts in London that I started taking adult education courses in glass, first in stained glass and then moving on to fused (kilnformed or "warm") glass. I regularly attend courses and masterclasses to develop my knowledge and learn new techniques to apply in my work.
I am a member of the Contemporary Glass Society.
I enjoy working in "warm" glass where it’s possible to create a wide variety of different work and am fascinated with how light becomes a design feature in the finished pieces – the results can be beautiful and uplifting. They make me smile and I hope they will do the same for you.
Based in both Suffolk and London, I'm inspired by the colours and beauty of the Suffolk landscape which influences my work – the sea at Aldeburgh, the beautiful countryside around Snape, and the woods and commons around Blaxhall, where I live – as well as the sense of history and tradition.
Come and visit me and see my work in my lovely garden studio.
