smoke fired stone forms
Media Type
Stoneware and porcelain ceramics
Handbuilt and wheel-thrown stoneware and porcelain ceramics, both functional and decorative. Also sculptural smoke-fired pieces.
Biography/Details

I have been working in ceramics for many years. My current focus is on stoneware and porcelain clays, both handbuilt and wheel-thrown.

I also make sculptural, smoke-fired forms. Some are free standing and others are mounted on wood or slate.  I enjoy the unpredictable results of the process and the fact that the smoke firing enhances the organic and natural qualities of the clay.

Inspiration for much of my work comes from rural and coastal environments.

Alongside my ceramics I make fused glass work.
