I make joyous colourful oil paintings celebrating the beauty of the world around me. Influenced by the landscape but not a pictorial representation.
Biography/Details
From school I went to art college. Having graduated with a BA in Fine Art and a PGCE in Art Education, I have continued led working in the arts as a practicing artist and a tutor. I taught A level art and Design inNottingham for 30 years. I then spent a year immersing myself in painting in southern Italy. On returning to the UK I set up the Secret Garden Cafe and studios in Newark on Trent with other artists and ran workshops and classes from my studio there. I was there three years teaching expressive painting to small groups, and I began to exhibit work. Recently moving to the Suffolk coast I have now given over my time fully to my own practice.
