Working from my studio in Hessett, I specialise in working with natural materials. I use paint made from pure mineral, paper made from plants and natural fibre textiles. I paint to express the beauty in the natural world and the desire to create a sense of space and freedom. Travel and being by the sea are particular obsessions; this is reflected in my work. Simplicity is a key component using balance, repetition and minimalism.
I have exhibited in various shows in East Anglia and had two paintings selected by the Colchester Art Society and one by the Institute of East Anglian Artists.
Work has also been selected and hung at The Leaping Hare Restaurant, Wyken and I exhibit with Art in East Anglia, Bury St Edmunds.
There are a number of shows I am taking part in over the coming year so I am excited to continue this journey and share my work with you.
You are welcome to my Open Studio and to share my garden, on Saturday 7th June Hessett is having an Open Gardens event.
A graduate in Textiles at the West Surrey College of Art and Design 1979, my career path has encompassed textiles, gardening and art. All of these culminate to embody the combination of techniques and process I have developed and use today.
