‘Draw bamboos for ten years, become a bamboo then forget about bamboos when you are drawing’ - this Zen teaching is my mantra.
Biography/Details

I am a professional illustrator and trained at Dartington College of Arts in Devon and Hornsey Art School in North London. Across a career in publishing and design my illustrations and surface pattern designs have been used extensively for greetings cards, fabric, ceramics, stationery, calendars and tinware.

Plants, flowers and the human face and form are my favoured subjects and I am a multi-media artist. Moving from London to Suffolk in 2014 gave me the time and freedom to create a new garden and dip into previously unexplored disciplines including collage, print-making and ceramics. Underlying all my work is an ever-present commitment to drawing, whether figurative, three-dimensional or abstract.

Please check here soon for dates to visit my open studio and see work in progress including paintings, hand-built porcelain and greetings cards and discover the hidden garden that inspires me.  Follow the  SOS Sudbury Trail to see the work of fellow artists living and working nearby who will be showing over the same weekend.

In 2025  I will be exhibiting with Artworks East at Blackthorpe Barn from 13th - 28th September and the hugely popular 'Heart of Suffolk' Annual Winter exhibition at Thorpe Morieux in November. Keep checking back for other dates.  More info at https://www.judithglover.com/exhibitions and https://www.judithglover.com/gardendiary
