I continue to find inspiration through drawing, which has been my passion for as long as I can remember. Working on charcoal pieces and oil paintings, I like to find moments of dramatic light and motion in ordinary urban life. I'm based in Ipswich, which features in my work just as much as London or Paris, as there is always something to be found in the magic of our immediate surroundings.
I am self-taught with a lifelong dedication to improving my understanding of drawing. I have found various illustration work over the years and I always believe that a background in drawing from imagination strengthens my ability to draw from direct observation.
In recent years I have been exhibiting more regularly in Suffolk, with solo shows most frequently at 142 Gallery in Felixstowe. Usually I will show one or two pictures as part of open exhibitions so my work can be seen at various events in Suffolk, with current details on the homepage of my website. Also featuring on my website is portraiture and I have offered commissions in oils and charcoal over the years. My work is available through my online shop where you can find recent oil paintings for sale.
There's always something new to explore so I try not to stay on one thing for too long...!
