A tonalist style inspired by Turner, Picasso and local Edward Seago!2025 sees Jax new studio opening in Eye. Trained in the arts, Jax has been painting professionally for the last 21 years, formerly a teacher. Her art work is held internationally from China, Australia to Italy and South Africa; in particular George Blair Collection (San Francisco), Clint Eastwood’s Mission Ranch in Carmel, and locally the Stoke by Nayland Hotel,The Oaksmere, Eye and The Crown Hotel, Framlingham. Previously Jax exhibited at the Nicole Villeneuvre Gallery in Chicago, The Collectors Gallery in Carmel California and the National Fruit Show, Kent. 2021 saw her as a participant in the sky arts program Landscape artist of the year.
Defrag A : Art that starts with the moment, a landscape, a portrait, a memory is formed. Memories immediately start to be recycled, visual, emotional, sensorial impact diminishes, parts are lost in the recycling, the truth of the moment may be lost or indeed cemented. Jax new work tries to incorporate 'Defrag A' and her tonalist style to capture the colour of emotions with a kinetic sense of movement: time and space.
Techniques favour indirect classical to ebauche work with glazes and direct paint.
