Chloé is a mixed media and textile artist whose work explores texture, composition and imperfection. Working with found objects, layered textiles, paint and stitch, she creates abstract compositions that highlight the subtle beauty in overlooked and fragmented forms. Her work engages in a dialogue between presence and absence, drawing attention to what remains and what is lost.
Chloé has studied creative textiles through courses at Central Saint Martins and City Lit, deepening her exploration of materiality and process-driven abstraction. Her compositions are built through a careful balance of layering and erasure—stitching, tearing and rearranging elements to form pieces that feel both tactile and ephemeral. Often working in a restrained tonal palette, she is drawn to the tension of edges, frayed surfaces and the quiet narratives held within materials.
In addition to her art practice, Chloé is the founder of Batteson Studio, an interior design practice that celebrates individuality and craftsmanship. Her work in interiors echoes her artistic approach, embracing texture, materiality and the interplay of old and new to create spaces with depth and meaning.
Inspired by discarded objects, weathered surfaces and the natural world, Chloé’s work invites contemplation—an exploration of history, memory and the poetry of imperfection.
