Poempots for 'Keep Singing Us Back' by Christina Buckton
Media Type
Ceramics : Hand built pottery and sculpture
Potter and ceramic artist. Individual hand built pieces, small sculptures and some work for outdoors.
Biography/Details

Current work explores hand built forms in various clays. Some pieces are low fired and then placed in a smoke kiln, others high fired and glazed. Work covers a variety of styles. There are basic pinch pots, small sculptural work with garden birds suitable for outdoors,  ceramic holders inspired by endangered species for the domestic setting  (small giraffe vases, tiger candle holders). A recent collaboration between potter, poet and printer has led to a series of four Poempots, where a clay form holds a poem / quote in different ways. Working with clay in a playful, exploratory and often, collaborative way.
