Biography/Details

I have been interested in art and all things creative since childhood, sketching animals, mostly dogs, cats and horses, for fun. I spent most of my teens at the stables, riding and looking after horses and drawing them the rest of the time!

I tried my hand at many different mediums over the years. I discovered my love for colour pencil in 2020. With time on my hands during lockdown, I stumbled upon some videos on you tube of artists creating the most detailed, highly realistic artwork I had ever seen. I had achieved fairly lifelike work with acrylic paint, but this was another level!

I decided to invest in a couple of small sets of professional standard colour pencils and give it a go. It wasn't long before I was hooked on this fabulous, versatile medium and my new pet portrait business was born!

In 2021 i joined the Bonny Snowdon Academy which specialises in teaching colour pencil work. We meet weekly via zoom with artists from all over the world to draw together, learn and support each other in our colour pencil journey. They really are a fabulous bunch of people!

I have discovered a new passion, a way I would like to spend the rest of my days, creating beautiful and unique pieces of art, capturing beloved pets for their owners to treasure for ever.

I hope you have enjoyed reading about my colored pencil journey. If I have inspired you to get creative yourself, I am happy to help you if you would like to message me. If you would like to commission me to draw a portrait of your cat, dog, horse, bird or anything else animal wise,  please feel free to get in touch and tell me what you would like. I'm always happy to discuss individual requests.
