Media Type
Watercolour & watercolour collage seascapes & landscapes
I love painting the coastline, creeks, estuaries and landscapes of Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex. A constant source of inspiration, delight and fascination.
Biography/Details

I was born in Ipswich and from a very early age just wanted 'to do art'. I studied Graphic Design and Illustration at Colchester School of Art and Norwich School of Art culminating in a B.A. (Hons) in 1984.

After running my own Graphic Design business for 25 years, in 2017 I returned to watercolours, a medium that I have always loved, painting seascapes and landscapes. Not the easiest of mediums to tame which is really part of its charm, and the unpredictability of how it will ebb and flow!

As well as using watercolours in a more realistic and traditional style I have recently, inspired by sea and shore, discovered the joy of creating more semi-abstract contemporary work with watercolour collage. This is more like watercolour marquetry, cutting and fitting together pieces of painted paper to create an image.

I have exhibited work with The Society of East Anglian Watercolourists at Ely, Wells-next-the-Sea and Clare.

I have also exhibited work at The Mall Galleries, London as part of The Society of Graphic Fine Art 'Open' exhibition 2020 & 2022 and The Royal Society of Marine Artists 'Open' exhibition 2020 & 2022.
