Using archetypal forms, often rooted in calligraphy, but also universally understood natural forms. I aim to express the meaning or shape of a thing, within the boundaries of the two materials I uniquely combines.
By consolidating the two opposing mediums I achieve a sculptural representation, each part crafted separately in a way that highlights its individual characteristics. Glass with its fluidity, clarity and crystal finish: metal, with visible working marks and opaque black sheen, generated by the coals of the fire. Combined hot, they capture a moment frozen in time.
