Julia ‘s Art Practice is informed by over twenty years experience as a horticulturalist working in Community Gardens and City Farms.

Julia has a multidisciplinary approach with a strong research base. She engages with plant material accessed from her local landscape, National Plant Collections and Community Projects.

Julia is inspired by historical and contemporary Botanical Art and Contemporary Drawing practices.

Her more sculptural pieces are influenced by the Japanese Oshibana tradition of making pictures using pressed flowers and other botanical material.

Julia won the 'Kent Creative Award' in 2016 for her Art Practice, and has been selected to show at the RHS Botanical Art Show Julia is a member of the Bedgebury Pinetum Florilegium Society.

Location & Directions

Our studios are around 6 miles from Bury St Edmunds. Take the A143 and when you get to Chedburgh turn right then right again, follow the road past the old school and Majors Close is the next right just before the bus shelter. Follow the road keeping right and we are on the next bend on the right.
