In the past year, I have been exploring knitting as means of expression, enjoying it's cosy pedestrian associations, and potential for making wearable art based on the imagery that has deeper mysteries.
Colour and drawing are hugely important to me. I keep various types of sketch books and work in them most days, for gleaning information, for example from life drawing, pattern development and as a means to aid creative decision making about colour.

Jayne creates effortlessly across a variety of media and is active in teaching and communicating her inspiration. At the moment her studio is also a shop and workshop: Magpie and Me. A treasure-chest of colourful handmade, hand-dyed, handwoven and handspun textiles of Jayne's. Plus tools, haberdashery and selected work from local artists. Art workshops also take place on site. A studio full of possibilities.
Feedback from Jayne Stansfeld: this year I'm exhibiting from home, I stopped attending Framlingham Market at the end of November 2016, to focus full=time on creating and circuiting artwork using various media particularly textiles and drawing
