Art Bridges the Gap II

Proving that art is not a bridge too far

Theronda Hoffman, local Suffolk artist, is organising the second ‘Art Bridges the Gap’ exhibition at Kesgrave Arts from 6th – 20th December 2014 raising funds for Age UK Suffolk. This year’s exhibition will feature a variety of work by Theronda and some of her students and guest artists including Maggi Hambling, Richard Bawden, Colin Slee, Allan Williams, Richard Cox and others.

Maggi Hambling, renowned international artist, has kindly donated a painting which will be auctioned for the benefit of the charity and all participating artists are kindly donating a percentage of their sales to Age UK Suffolk.

The preview night will take place on Friday 5th December from 7.00pm at Kesgrave Arts, 83 Main Road, Kesgrave with the exhibition running from 6th – 20th December on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Theronda Hoffman said “I am very keen to promote art in Suffolk and to encourage people of all ages to become creative, particularly older people who often find art classes beneficial both socially and creatively.  I live to paint and paint to live and art bridges all the gaps and no age limits!”.  She continued “I support Age UK Suffolk who provide so many valuable services for older people in Suffolk”.

She continued “I would like to thank all the artists who are taking part in the exhibition and especially Maggi Hambling who has so generously donated a painting to be auctioned, which is fantastic news!”

Maggie James, Individual Giving Officer, said “This celebration of art for all ages allows everyone to appreciate the artistic talent alive in Suffolk. This is the second time Theronda has hosted “Art Bridges the Gap” and we hope to spread the word to an even wider audience this year. Art is accessible to people of all ages and many people discover and explore their creative sides in later life. We are so grateful to Maggi Hambling, Theronda Hoffman, Richard Bawden and all the local artists involved for recognising the work we do in informing, advising and supporting older people. The funds raised will help us to maintain our Suffolk services, without the generosity of our donors from all walks of life many of our services could not continue.”
