I have sewed for most of my life making a wide variety of items. As a young girl I started making dolls clothes with the help of my grandmother, and later progressed onto making clothes for myself and for friends.
Following early retirement, I qualified as an interior designer. However, I was constantly drawn to textiles and specifically textile art. I therefore pursued my interests in nature and textiles, combining the two with my textile art work based on leaves and trees and more recently landscapes.
I particularly enjoy shibori, the art of Japanese resist dying, using indigo and woad.
My work has been exhibited throughout Europe including France, Germany, Holland and Luxembourg, and further afield in Russia, Japan and Brazil.
